Truth is where you find it. Don’t look for it, only, in certain places, spoken by specific persons. To limit where we might find truth, is to limit ourselves, is to close our eyes and brush off many of the daily truths that we encounter. You will know that it is true, because of the expansion of your heart, the wholesomeness, of what you just discovered, the realization that your life could and should change because of it.

Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” If we read about His life, the things that He did, the way He conducted Himself, we know that He is the Son of God. He is truth. When we know of Him, our heart feels so much larger, swollen with love and a desire to follow His words, His way. …Swollen with love and a desire to follow His way.

Loving and desiring to do the right thing, is not doing the right thing. We know we should not restrict where we find the truth. And yet, we don’t like someone, we don’t respect someone, so we conclude, unwittingly, that this person cannot have anything good for me to know. Unless, what he/she says is in complete agreement with what I already believe, then the person is obviously wrong!!! Many of us may read these words, agree with them, and still limit who we will listen to.

Everything that we hear and observe is not necessarily true. Everything that motivates us is not necessarily true. We have the responsibility to hear, to listen critically, to weigh what is said or written, and to then act accordingly. Our intellect demands this of us.

Truth is not only limited to words and ideas. Our actions, our lives will reflect what truths we hold close to our heart. Just as we weigh the truthfulness of the words we hear and read, we are expected to weigh the truthfulness of own lives. What do we do with our lives? Do we feel a joy inside, knowing that we are trying to follow His way? Do our lives reflect the truths that we claim to believe?
