arguments

The other day, I was half-heartedly listening to the news. It wasn’t that I was distracted; I was just fed up with all the negative stories that were being presented. Think about all the things that we hear on a regular basis:
war, murder, rape, terrorism, teen riots, the list goes on endlessly. It should make us, all, sick.

Mankind appears to have abandoned its intellect, its thought processes. And in its place, more and more of mankind choose to live like animals. Christ came to us, to show us how to live, how to love one another, to show us how much He loves us. And, we are rejecting His Way. “I don’t commit murder. I don’t rape anyone. I am not a terrorist. Why are you talking to me, about this?” Is this what you are thinking?

Let me pose you a situation: You are a parent. You have a child, who is just learning to walk.
YOUR VALUE SYSTEM WILL BE HIS OR HERS, ONE DAY. You cannot avoid it. You are teaching your child, everyday, whether you realize it or not. Your thoughts, your feelings, your angry tirades, your violent outbursts, your permissive attitude towards sex, your choice of clothing (or lack of it)… all of these will not only affect your child, but will shape your child. The basis of his/her character will come from you, I guarantee it. So no, you don’t commit murder, or rape anyone. You aren’t a terrorist, either. But, parent or not, what you pass on, to others, your children, your companions, your co-workers, your neighbors, will be affecting them, will be influencing them.

Each of us has the responsibility to look at ourselves,,,,really look at ourselves,,,, and realize what it is, that we are passing on. Are we proud of what it is, or are we ashamed? Are your thoughts, your feelings, your angry tirades, your violent outbursts, your permissive attitude towards sex, your choice of clothing (or lack of it), are these out of place, if you are walking with Jesus? To change ourselves is not an impossible task. It is not an insurmountable mountain that we have to climb. It would be impossible or insurmountable if we try to do it alone. But there is a loophole. We have an IN. Jesus is just waiting for us to ask His help. Jesus is waiting for us to ask Him, “Wanna go for a walk?”.
